fantastic new Golf GTi was launched to dealers on a whirlwind
nationwide tour in mid December 2004.

The launch covered the entire Country at racing tracks up
& down the country in just 10 days. Anthony was part
of the team visiting many current and historic motor racing
/ airfield venues starting at Knockhill (Fife, Scotland)
and moving down to Elvington (Yorkshire), Oulton Park (Cheshire),
Donington (Derbyshire), Castle Combe (Wiltshire) and finally
Goodwood (Sussex).

The
delegates were wowed at the performance & handling of
the car that had just received rave reviews in the motoring
press. They were shown the car's ability through a series
of courses designed to demonstrate superb levels of power
from the 2.0 litre turbo engine developing 280nm of torque
and the excellent refined stability systems that allow total
involvement in the car whilst retaining full control.
More
than a few comments were made about the raughty exhaust
note and coupled with the crackling of the engine whilst
the E.S.P. traction control was in action together with
a sample of the racing developed D.S.G. sequential gear
box, many were forgiven for getting a little carried away
around the tracks!

It was generally perceived that the car is a hark back to
the much loved original Mark I GTi and a perfect Christmas
gift from the German manufacturer.
